That’s another collection done, at the printers and ready to order. The Turra Coo Collection has been a brainchild of Pipe Major Andrew Gray of Turriff & District Pipe Band. He brought together band members and friends of the band in a collection to raise funds for NHS Grampian in the North East of Scotland.
He has successfully brought together a collection suitable for all levels of player, everyone who buys a copy will find something to suit their ability and taste.
There are a number of exceptionally fine tunes within this new pipe book “The Turra Coo Collection”. All the composers should be congratulated for donating their compositions for this publication, which in turn will support NHS Grampian. It is very difficult to pick out a personal favourite tune with so many tunes that have real merit! After some thought, I have decided to choose one tune in particular for its simplicity and beautiful melody. It truly is a lovely tune! “Remembrance” by Richard Anderson – for me this slow air is especially poignant at this time.
